Kevin de Bruyne is staying at Manchester City.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has put an end to the speculation surrounding Kevin de Bruyne's future, affirming that the influential midfielder will remain with the club.

Despite heavy links to a lucrative summer move to Saudi Arabia, Guardiola expressed confidence ahead of City’s opening pre-season game against Celtic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. "Kevin isn’t leaving," he told reporters, dispelling doubts about De Bruyne's commitment.

De Bruyne, who has just one year left on his contract with the Blues, had hinted last month that he would consider an offer from the Saudi Pro-League due to the "incredible money" available. However, Guardiola's remarks indicate that the club is set on keeping their star player.

The Belgian midfielder played a pivotal role in Manchester City's successful Premier League campaign last season, which marked their fourth consecutive title and De Bruyne's sixth with the club. His performances have cemented his status as a key player in Guardiola’s squad.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s England Euro 2024 squad member Eberechi Eze has been linked with a move to City, and there has been interest from Saudi Arabia in Brazil goalkeeper Ederson. Nevertheless, Guardiola suggests that the likelihood of major squad changes is low.

"If someone leaves, we are going to talk about that and, of course, until the last day [of the transfer window] we have chances," Guardiola stated. "I don’t rule out new players as an option, but I think there is an 85, 90, 95% chance we will have the same squad."

As Manchester City prepares to defend their Premier League title, starting with a match against Chelsea on August 18, Guardiola’s reassurances about De Bruyne’s future will undoubtedly boost the team's morale and stability.
