CNN correspondent Larry Madowo and Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille were forced to flee after a gang attack interrupted their interview at the Hospital of the State University of Haiti. The swift and coordinated response by the Haitian National Police (HNP) and the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) ensured their safe evacuation.

The interview was nearing its conclusion when shots rang out from a nearby neighborhood. Security forces immediately sprang into action, providing cover and firing shots to facilitate the prime minister's exit. The area was later pacified by the police, restoring a semblance of calm.
Larry Madowo described the harrowing experience,
"We were interviewing the Haitian prime minister, the interim prime minister, and we've been told we have to leave. This is an old hospital where he used to work. It's a combination of Kenyan and Haitian forces protecting the prime minister. Everyone has an armoured car," he said as he moved toward their vehicle under heavy security.
Led by HNP Director General Normil Rameau and MSS General Commander, the convoy swiftly navigated the chaotic scene, ensuring the safety of all involved. This incident highlights the volatile situation in Haiti, where even high-profile figures and international journalists are not immune to the escalating violence.
