Senator Maanzo Accuses President Ruto and Raila Odinga of Bribery in Adani Group Deal**

Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo has made explosive claims, alleging that both President William Ruto and Opposition Leader Raila Odinga were bribed by the Adani Group to support a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Kenyan government. Appearing on Citizen TV's Day Break, Maanzo accused the two leaders of receiving financial backing from Adani, which influenced their stance on recent deals involving the Indian conglomerate.

Maanzo claimed that Adani had previously sponsored Raila's 2012 presidential campaign, which he suggested explains the opposition leader’s public support for the company amid protests from Kenyans. He further alleged that both Ruto and Raila received billions of shillings in bribes to ensure Adani won key government contracts without competitive bidding.

The Senator also implicated Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi, hinting that his appointment was part of a cover-up to protect the alleged agreement between the two leaders and Adani. Maanzo promised to provide more details in Parliament, while criticizing the lack of transparency in the tender process.

Meanwhile, Raila Odinga defended the PPP in a statement, arguing it would promote development and reduce the tax burden on Kenyans amid tough economic conditions. The allegations have raised serious concerns about the integrity of Kenya’s political dealings and procurement processes.
