Embu County Police Commander Nicholas Maina confirmed the tragic occurrence, stating that Mwenda Ali was en route to Nairobi accompanied by his two young daughters when the accident transpired on Tuesday, April 2.

As reported by Nation.africa, one of Ali's daughters tragically lost her life at the scene, while Ali himself, his two-year-old daughter, and the driver suffered grave injuries and were swiftly transported to Ena Hospital in Meru.

Ali, exhibiting symptoms of chest pains and bearing deep lacerations on his forehead along with a dislocated left knee, required immediate medical attention. Subsequently, due to the severity of their conditions, they were airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment.

"It was a fatal accident but the deputy speaker survived and he was flown to Nairobi together with other survivors who were aboard his car. We have launched investigations with a view of establishing what caused the accident," remarked Maina.
