"The aircraft, which was carrying the Vice President, the Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, and nine others, was found this morning in the Chikangawa forest. Unfortunately, all on board have perished in the crash," the statement read.

The plane went missing late Monday evening, prompting an immediate and comprehensive search and rescue operation. Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera ordered all available resources to be directed towards locating the aircraft. "President Chakwera has been deeply affected by this tragedy and has ensured that every effort was made to find the missing plane," said Samba.
