The IEBC lawyers on Monday dismissed claims by the opposition coalition NASA senior council James Orengo that the 8th August polls had a lot of elections irregularities. Speaking at the Supreme court on Monday evening one of the IEBC lawyers Mr Peter Wanyama said that “there are no proofs that the IEBC chairman committed an election offence as NASA had alleged earlier.” Wanyama added that the “election met both qualitative and quantitative starndards hence the allegations by NASA are false”. Patrick Lumumba representing IEBC’s Chairman Wafula Chebukati took the supreme court to school by saying “De Minimis Non Curat Lex!” , a statement that left everyone wondering what he meant. He further called NASA’s case ‘petty grievances’ with no tangible evidence, Lumumba added that “The test of the election is simple, it doesn’t require Pythogaras theorem” The Lawyers were giving their submissions in response to the petition filed by NASA last week. The ruling of the case is expected on Friday this week and the judges led By chief Justice Maranga told the parties in the case to keep time during their presention so that to give the court enough time to make its final rulling on the case.
