High Court Rejects Bid to Halt Public Participation in Deputy President Gachagua’s Impeachment Motion

The High Court Gachagua had sought to block the proceedings, accusing the National Assembly of rushing the process without adequate public input and alleging bias from Speaker Moses Wetangula and Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Shollei. He claimed the motion was politically motivated and aimed at overturning the will of Kenyan voters.

This marks the fourth time courts have declined to halt the impeachment process. With public participation moving forward, Gachagua faces a critical moment as the court prepares for the next hearing on October 10, which could shape his political future.
